2025 YCRAN Case Study
A community-led exploration reimagining the future of the Frost Bank Center.
The 2025 YCRAN Case Study is a year-long, community-driven initiative exploring the challenges and opportunities surrounding the potential redevelopment of the Frost Bank Center (formerly the AT&T Center) in East San Antonio, Texas. Led by the Young Commercial Real Estate Advancement Network (YCRAN) – a San Antonio based 501(c)(6) nonprofit focused on empowering the next generation of commercial real estate leaders. The 2025 Case Study brings together a selective cohort of emerging professionals with the resources, capabilities, and passion to explore the future possibilities of the Frost Bank Center. Collaborating with local officials, grassroots organizations, and engaged East Side residents, this cohort will take a community-focused approach to produce a comprehensive final report that will help inform public policy and spark meaningful citywide dialogue about the future of one of San Antonio’s most iconic venues.
Problem Statement
With the San Antonio Spurs considering relocating to the proposed Sports District site, the Frost Bank Center faces an uncertain future. Without a clear plan or understanding for best next steps, this public asset risks becoming an underutilized liability, one that could disrupt economic stability and community momentum of San Antonio’s East Side.
The Opportunity
Continued Investment
The Spurs potential vacancy opens the door for a transformative next chapter. The site can be reimagined in ways that serve the community and city alike.
Enabling Discussion
The Case Study will culminate in a data-driven, community-centered report designed to spark citywide dialogue and lay the foundation for collective action.
Empowering Leaders
The Case Study provides a unique platform for emerging local leaders to build real-world skills through hands-on engagement with real-world challenges.
